The Organizing Committee of the First International Congress on Research, Technological Development and Innovation in University Education thanks the Editorial Board of the Journal of Technology and Educational Sciences (JOTSE) for the publication of this special issue.

The National Federation of Teachers of Public Universities of Peru (FENDUPP-Histórica), taking into consideration that universities should not turn their backs to reality, so it is important that the academy becomes aware of the importance of motivating students, teachers and other members of the university community to get involved in research processes, contributing to the analysis and plural and critical debate on the development of research in higher education, exchanging experiences that allow the emergence of a variety of initiatives on scientific and formative research.

Different papers have been presented to the congress by renowned researchers along the following five thematic lines:

- Scientific research, training and researcher training

- Research, innovation and development policies in Higher Education.

- Paradigms in scientific research and new epistemological challenges in the production of knowledge in Latin American universities.

- Internationalization of research networks, groups and institutes.

- Public communication of science and technology.

This special issue of the Journal of Technology and Science Education - JOTSE consists of nine articles.
